I’m nuts for hummus right now. It even gets me to eat my vegetables. Nothing better than some yummy garlic and lemon to make the baby carrots go down.
My hummus habit may bankrupt me. So I tried to make it myself. So far I haven’ been pleased with the results. I don’t know if it’s improper equipment or the taste of a classic hummus ingredient — tahini — or too little salt. I even found a recipe that replaced the tahini with peanut butter. It was . . . interesting. Not many bites of my sorry homemade hummus and I’m afraid I might start hating it, and maybe peanut butter too.
